Community Engagement at the Holden Center

Invest in Community Engagement

How You Can Make A Difference

Thank you for your interest in supporting leadership education, service learning and civic engagement at the University of Oregon! The Holden Center depends on private sources of funding to sustain and expand its work. The reasons for giving are numerous and significant. Your support provides UO students with opportunities to pursue their community service and leadership interests. It allows them to partner with faculty and communities to work together to solve community identified issues and problems. It provides them with unique training and educational opportunities that prepare them to enter the workforce. It empowers them to make a difference in the world.

The Holden Center plans, implements, and evaluates high quality leadership programs and experiences such as Alternative Breaks, Make a Difference Day and the MLK Day of Service that advance student learning, professional development and academic success. The Holden Center cultivates and administers community-based and service learning experiences in the broader community and region. It provides consultation and direct services to students, alumni, and parents to underscore the importance of building relationships and the process of collaboration as a key to developing one's leadership capacity.

The University of Oregon, major donors, nonprofit and government agencies, local community and national foundations, annual fund donors and program alumni help sustain the work of the Holden Center. We are grateful for their generous support; our future depends on them and on finding new supporters of our work. To make a difference, we need your help.

Gifts to the Holden Center enhance our programs and initiatives and assist in fostering leadership, service and civic engagement opportunities throughout campus.
