Students

Introduction

The Service-Learning Program is committed to providing students with diverse opportunities to engage the community and make a difference.

Students may choose opportunities ranging from volunteering during our one-day community service events to engaging in a service-learning project where they take what they have learned in the classroom and apply it in collaboration with a community partner addressing the issues of our community.

We believe that bringing together the energy and innovation of our students with the wisdom and experience of community partners is a powerful tool for social change and we are here to support you along the way!

 Duck Corps

Duck Corps is a growing network of students working to improve the conditions of our community through service-learning and volunteerism. Corps members receive personalized notifications of service opportunities tailored to their interests throughout the year and can record and track their service hours to receive recognition at the year's end.

Alternative Breaks

The AB experience encourages students to critically analyze their cultural assumptions and mindsets through learning about the complexity of people and the influence of diversity.  The learning occurs for students as they are asked to step outside their comfort zones and be willing to engage in difficult conversations, ask questions, examine their beliefs, make mistakes and confront challenging issues.  The AB program values holistic education and creates opportunities that inspire personal growth with focus on sustainable social change.
