Opportunity Title Women's Health Education Volunteer

Description
SCREEN volunteers will have the opportunity to engage in a variety of activities to share breast and cervical health education with their community. Volunteers will promote the importance of recommended breast and cervical cancer screenings and early detection. Volunteer opportunities include staffing tables/booths at community events (such as health fairs, farmers markets, festivals, and more) and/or presenting basic breast and cervical health education to various groups (such as church groups, senior centers, book clubs, and more) in your community.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

Attend SCREEN volunteer orientation/training Commitment to volunteer for at least 2 events per year Staff SCREEN tables/booths at community events and promote breast and cervical health Present basic breast and cervical health information to community groups Coordinate pick up and drop off of education and presentation materials with SCREEN program coordinator Display educational materials at the exhibit table provided Attend group volunteer meetings as scheduled by SCREEN program coordinator Assist with volunteer recruitment Complete the SCREEN activity evaluation report within a week of event

SCREEN, a five-year grant from Susan G. Komen for the Cure® and
Oregon Health & Science University, is a regional program designed to
provide breast and cervical health education – specifically the message
that early detection saves lives – to the women of Linn, Benton, Lane
and Lincoln counties.
