Opportunity Title Classroom Assistant

Description
Assisting lead and assistant teachers in implementing an educational child development program for children assigned to the classroom, ranging in ages from eight weeks to 12 years of age.  Under the direction of our classified teaching staff, assistant interact with children and contribute to maintaining the safety and organization of the program and environment.  Assistants also help prepare food for snacks and clean up afterwards.

We are a 12 month program. Our operating hours are 7:30am to 5:45pm.
Minimum Commitment Level Ten Weeks (One Quarter)
Limitations or Restrictions Must be enrolled in the Oregon Employment Division Criminal History Registry and helpful to have a current Lane County Food Handler's Card.

Mission
A comprehensive, year-round, child-care program serving UO faculty and staff children eight weeks through eleven years of age, the Vivian Olum Child Development Center is a community where children are nourished, parents are welcomed, and care givers feel valued. In addition the Center provides the opportunity for UO students in education and early childhood development to gain firsthand experience and for faculty members to conduct ground-breaking research.
